Inside The Mind Of The Well Intentioned Liberal

By Charles Novitsky

Inside The Mind Of The Well Intentioned Liberal

Liberals by and large, are well educated. Indeed many of them populate the various academic and teaching professions. They are people that appreciate “reason”, and like to dream of using their marvelous reason “to shape the imperfect world around us”. They are intoxicated with the vision that there exists a managed new humanity possible, called “Humanity Version 2”. So, what's the problem with that? That doesn't sound like such a bad wish, or strategy!

2liberal_brain1

The problem progressives face, is that "Humanity 2.0", doesn’t exist in nature or reality, and that trying to impose some dreamy new set of ideologies and rules for human behavior and social conduct, risks destroying our currently imperfect, but working "Humanity Version 1". Nearly all other previous societies that tried to impose a “New Order by Reasoning”, ended destroying themselves through the use of force and bureaucracy. Examples are: Prussian Germany, Leninist Russia, Maoist China, and ancient Rome. They accidentally destroyed what makes Humanity version 1.0 function—natures perfected rules of social conduct, motivation, and productivity.

According to Friedrich Hayek, Von Misses, and other economic sociologists, our human society is NOT the product of intentional reasoning, or intentional design. Mankind's traits were shaped over time, by the slow process of evolution. But unlike our hands and feet, it is not a physical evolution, but the social evolution of our behaviors, mannerisms, and inner thought processes*. This behavioral evolution makes the cohabitation of 7 billion people on our crowded globe, possible. This eons old evolutionary processes, far beyond our control or comprehension, shaped, and allowed mankind to cooperate enough to survive, and raise families. These evolutionary mannerisms are the basis for trust, revenge, justice, and all of our social interactions. They even form the basis, and are observable in something as common, as how a man and woman may have sex without rape. How do these two, or more people, control their boundaries, rules, and behaviors on a date. It likewise forms the basis to decide, if your neighbor is trustworthy or not, and what to do about it.

We could go on ad infinitum, but the point is, our miracle society is only possible, through these evolved invisible rules, more commonly known as the “extended order”* of mankind's cooperation. By contrast, put two random chimpanzees, who do not know each other, into the same room, and there is violent chaos. According to animal behaviorists, two unfamiliar chimpanzees in the same room, will quickly devolve into a violent fight. There is no polite conversation, or exchange of ideas possible. Mankind may have arguably started off like the chimpanzees, but eons ago, the majority of those peoples, or tribes, whose actions failed to allow the development of the extended cooperation needed for a large society, died out. In other words they failed to benefit from the extra food and resources possible in a cooperative society. They failed to survive, and thus failed to create children and offspring. This is how evolutionary processes work, they shape those traits, physical or behavioral, that allow the best survival and outcome, by erasing out the least beneficial of the infinite possibilities. This is why Man, (and Woman), is exactly who we are, why we are, and what we are—a truly marvelous socially cooperating animal. If you need any proof, witness how I am now writing this marvelous article for you—and just as marvelous, you are cooperatively reading my thoughts on paper, or screen. Thanks ;-)

Back to the word, and ideology of liberalism, which ironically in the 1800's meant the opposite of what it does today. Back then, when our founding fathers were called liberalists, it was closer in meaning, to what some might today, use the word “conservative”, or perhaps “libertarian”—then, it meant less government, more freedom, and praise of personal responsibility. Modern Liberals, like to believe that mankind has evolved so high, that we can simply use our minds, and reason to reshape society. After all, reason is quite useful to achieve, or plan for a great many of our needs, such as getting a good job, or a college degree. We certainly need to employ reason even for basic things, such as protecting and raising a family. Reason is an essential human tool. But reason is not infallible, for it can be shaped by mankind's weakness to use imperfect logic. But, what utopian wishers (i.e progressive liberals) fail to understand, is, that misusing reason to control and shape society is both dangerous, and a fools errand. Our complex society is beyond directed control and wishful shaping. Yes, we can indeed make laws and regulations, and this may control some bad behaviors with the threat of prison, but it does not cure our social ills. For example, while we do give welfare to our poorer section of society, sadly, counter to our intuition and desired results, we see it doesn't cure poverty, nor crime. Disappointingly, some sociologists assert, our welfare funding simply entraps these least successful people, onto a conveyor belt of failure*. The unintended result, is that those who least likely have the will, skills, or mental focus, to get out of welfare, are thus trapped in it, to become addicted to it, perhaps for the rest of their lives. Some further argue, that the next generation of children in a failed welfare family, learn the misproductive habits of their welfare parents, to perpetuate a multigenerational malady of failure in American society. Perhaps this is why, even though our modern welfare society has tampered with social values since the 1960's, it has failed to achieve the promised cure for poverty, and social disenfranchisement. Perhaps even worse, it appears to concentrate over periods of time, people with the same lack of fortune. The concept, and solution of public housing, and public schooling, essentially become storage houses, to create entire communities of failure—villages of the damned.

This is the predicted outcome to “well intentioned” interference, with complex mechanisms. A horrible example of which is Australia’s poisonous cane toad infestation*. This cat sized toad was introduced, to help solve the sugar cane problem, of beetles eating the crops, in the 1930's. The lesson, as many ecologists will tell you, is that it’s dangerous to tamper with something you don't fully understand. Precisely because it is too complex, with thousands of counter consequences, nature has that nasty habit of biting us back—when we meddle with it, or try to plan it, or reason with it. The dangerous outcome, usually is a bit similar to what happens, when you call the beloved “Three Stooges”, to solve a problem. Well intentioned, and motivated the Stooges may be, but their lack of understanding, ends up causing unintended catastrophe.

Welfare, just like any other recipe, can create something good, or something bad--depending on what ingredients are used, and how exactly baked. Evolutionary behaviorists studies of ancient societies show us, that kindness and rescue for our fellow villager or neighbor did take place, but only between known peoples and villages. It was never arbitrary, nor unlimited. Furthermore there was a personal satisfaction reward from the act of giving and helping. There was perhaps a level of guilt arising inside these recipients to succeed and better themselves without handouts. In these original societies, the rules of extended cooperation were unconsciously followed, and obeyed. This kind of voluntary, and supervised assistance, can be called the good type of welfare. Utopianists, by contrast, do not follow this exact recipe, they have devised a conscious "reasoning" recipe, that unfortunately violates many of our hidden social evolutionary rules. It would be futile to even try to classify them, or know them all--they are hidden in our psyche, and DNA. So, this article does not advocate a welfare-less, or uncompassionate society. It only claims government politicians, and pro-government intervention liberals, do not have the proper recipe, and thus cause more damage than they solve. Both Republican, and Democratic progressives, naively try to imitate a good social process, with the artificial act of "forcing compassion", and "forcing charity". A better tactic would be for all collectivists to try to bring awareness of a cause, and convince their friends and neighbors for voluntary donations, and support. A society where charity is voluntary would be a far wiser, and far more effective in too many ways for social scientists to yet understand. A smart example of using voluntary community based awareness for charity, were the 1980s concerts for Bangladesh, Haiti, and others*.

So in conclusion, Liberals, sometimes also called Utopianists, Progressives, Collectivists, Socialists, or Communists, don't understand the foundation of our hidden evolved rules, underpinning the success this extended order of mankind—the reason why we are all here today, and not in our original tropical jungle. “Reason”, tricks them with the audacity to believe they know better than God, or natures, nearly perfect behavioral evolutionary process. Thus they naively believe solving poverty, is as simple as taking money from our employers, and hard working taxpayers, and giving it away to the poor, e.g: those with a lack of fortune. After all, it does sound reasonable. But many of them, sorely lacking any economic understanding, or economic training, fail to see exactly how, that has caused a “cane toad sized” side effect—the loss of jobs in America. And without enough “well paying” jobs, we lose prosperity, and everything else, including our food, and civility.

Crazy Thoughts: Maybe 9/11 Happened Because Washington Disobeyed The Constitution?

by Charles Novitsky

Let My Constitution Go!

Perhaps the alternative to being a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, is a 9/11 accuser. Whereas there is no shortage of theories as to why 9/11 happened, and how it happened, here is yet another angle to debate—The World Trade Center fell because Washington D.C. disobeyed the Constitution. Before you laugh and report me to the NSA, allow me to make my point.

According to one rumor that I cannot substantiate, 73 percent of congress would fail a written test on comprehension of the constitution. Of course, comprehension is a step above being able to simply recall the 7 constitutional articles, and 10 "Bill of Rights", but even simply reciting might be too much of a challenge, to expect from our Washington politicians. The Constitution is rarely remembered by most Americans once they graduate school, and I am sure few readers would actually be able to use its cleverly crafted rules in a persuasive argument, or conversation. The fact remains, the document called The Constitution is a contract with the States, and the Peoples, telling Washington what they are NOT allowed to do, by only giving permission for 18 tasks, or responsibilities. This was so important, our forefathers purposely wrote these 18 limitations in simple English, for anyone to understand, in the first part of the Constitution
(article 1, section 8). This is known as “the enumerated powers” list. Enumerated in this case, simply means "numbered". The reason behind this enumerated limitation is Washington was created to be a sort of club organizer for the needs of the various States, but was not desired, nor intended for it to become the master of the States. In fact even the word “foederal”, the original spelling of our word “federal”, means a "league or club". The federal club, was only therefore meant to organize these few powers assigned to Washington. The limited powers that our statesmen believed the states could not as coherently organize for themselves. Here is the list (but you may want to skip these details for now)......

The eighteen permissions for Washington DC

The Constitution can be rather dry and boring without proper commentary and context, and we will skip going into this list. A great book to read for context is, The Politically Incorrect Guide To The Constitution”, by Gutzman.

Now that I am older, and perhaps wiser, I will argue that the Constitution is more than a set of rules for Washington—it is actually a game strategy designed to keep the United States forever free. It was designed so America could never become tyrannic, like 1700's England, or France, or Europe. Some may argue that Europe is still somewhat tyrannic, and the new European Union will make it even more so. In England, there is no right to free speech, and You can get arrested for doing so. huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/07/05/american-preacher-arreste_n_3549537.html

This difference in the concept and definition of freedom, between Europe and the USA, needs to be pointed out. Some Americans use Europe as their desired example of good government. They point out the assumed utopian success of European healthcare, gun control, or other similar government powers. In effect, because European governments do it, America must copy them. But here is a controversial shocker: America is NOT Europe, and that's exactly what is good about us. Furthermore, we at least have a written constitution telling government their job, and what they cannot do—England, by contrast, doesn't even have a written constitution. Furthermore, there is no European nation where the politicians and government were so purposely limited by a similar constitution, as The United States. No other nation was ever similarly constrained in their permitted powers and tasks as The USA, to forever preserve individual freedom to the "people". One cannot compare, or wish the USA to be more like Europe, any more than one can wish New York to be more like Florida. If one desires palm trees and warm weather, then one's destination should be to live where that is part of the climate.

But back to the issue of blame. Lets historically retrace Washingtons past disobedience of the Constitution, and how that may have led to the 9/11 catastrophe. These will only be summaries, and those interested in knowing more than a superficial introduction, should investigate the facts for themselves, in further detail.

1) Washington & CIA Poke Sticks Into Middle East Beehive!

CIA IRAN 1953 OPERATION AJAX
If anyone could believe this AJAX-CIA meddling was in USA's peace benefit, I have a nice bridge in Brooklyn, for sale.

In 1953, Washington unconstitutionally poked a stick in the middle east beehive. Washington created a coup to overthrow Iran's President (i.e. Prime Minister), and put in his place, a tyrant called "Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi". The Shah created a backwards  dictatorship, which oppressed his own people. This pushed the then, almost modern Iran, back into the economic and social dark ages. This secret operation was called "Operation Ajax". Iran was not even an enemy at the time. According to Wikipedia, Washington interfered with this country's government, because England asked for help to maintain their oil supplies, and contracts in Iran.

Where does it say in the Constitution, that Washington was authorized by us, to provoke these aggressive acts with other countries. In fact, the wording in the Constitution more or less says, Washington was created to defend the States, not to put our safety at risk. Instigating arguments and battles around the globe is most certainly a risk. Poking a stick in a beehive often has consequences, or blow-back, as the CIA calls it. In effect, Americas bad reputation in the Middle East, and elsewhere was then created, and we became perceived as The Great Satan. Fortunately, no terrorist sought revenge against us back in the 1950's, but the seeds of hate were perhaps planted way back then in the past. An unconstitutional action came back to haunt future Americans.

2) Washington & CIA Forget Who They Work For!

cia iran created mujahideen 1979 operation cyclone
Children should not play with matches.

In 1979, Washington unconstitutionally aided and trained the Afghan rebels. Any thesaurus defines “rebel”, as another name for “terrorist”. These rebels the CIA trained (the Mujaheddin), later evolved to become Osama bin Laden's Taliban. We trained them in torture and resistance techniques, as well as bombing and terror tactics. Sadly, the joke was on Washington, because these resistance fighters would eventually use the same terror techniques on us in September 11, 2001, and elsewhere. The price Americans have paid for Washington's straying outside of their constitutional mandate was not only the terror of 9/11, and the sad loss of thousands of lives, it was the destruction of our economy. This also fueled the need and growth of the NSA, and created the birth of the Homeland Security Agency, and its invasion of our privacy. I am not actually criticizing the current need or benefit of an NSA-DHS, but only commenting on the sad consequence of our past and present international meddling, for it eventually brought about their controversial necessity. This unconstitutional international meddling is at the root of these expensive wars. Wars that are bankrupting the nation, and killing our young men, or crippling them. Since 9/11, the fabric of our country has been unrecognizably changed—the no fly lists—the need to remove our shoes and belts at airports—snooping on nearly every cellphone, and email. The list of consequences is a very long one.

Was the justification for training those Afghan terrorists, (to fight the invading Russians), constitutionally sufficient? Many clearly say “NO”, the Constitution does not empower Washington to legally poke a stick in someone else's war, in some other part of the world. Not even if it makes the world safer. The constitution does not give permission for Washington to make the world safer, though that may be a pretty thought, and a nice humanitarian gesture. The constitution was not designed to protect humanitarian goals. It was designed to protect Americans, and more specifically, the freedom of Americans. The federal government was enabled to protect the States from real enemies, those that take guns and weapons to our shores. Not imagined enemies. Russia was a loud mouth aggressive and annoying adversary, but was no such enemy at the time. One might argue, the entire Cold War, was just some philosophical argument among government tyrants and bureaucrats, on how they best could rule the world—democracy versus socialism. If only our political leaders could practice true democracy, as well as they preach it. And so, we now kill in the name of spreading our strange definition of democracy, perhaps just like the Crusaders killed, in the name of spreading God's word. Washington's presence and interference in 1979 Afghanistan was clearly outside of the wording, and design, and intent of Our Constitution. Again, I invite readers to see where the Constitution allows Washington to disturb and risk our peace here, on the shores of America, by instigating fights in other neighborhoods. These fights do not promote our peace, as the constitution demands, but quite the opposite, risk our peace. The constitution specifies only the duty of “defense”, whereas these war games are all offensive actions. In a court of law, I cannot legally attack my crazy neighbor just because I am concerned his actions may someday harm me in my own house. That is not defense, it is a blatant offense, and I would be arrested, and charged with a crime. However, no one is advising that we should be wimps, for the moment this crazed neighbor knocks on my door to harm me, all hell and fury should be unleashed.

Another issue with these war games, is the permissible use of our tax dollars. Since aiding other countries for their defense, or even humanitarian reasons, is compassionate, but unconstitutional, the use of even a single penny of the citizens money for this agenda is equally unconstitutional. In other words, there are not just one or two constitutional crimes taking place in Washington, but multiple violations. To those that believe American citizens should support the humanitarian goals for other nations, there is a way to do that without violating the constitution. That method would be for Washington politicians to get on their pulpits and ask Americans to voluntarily chip in and help. Or, the people can do it themselves, like we did in the 1990's with through the newspaper articles and music concerts for Bangladesh. As a further stretch of the imagination, congress could even allow people to be volunteer fighters overseas, provided its not against the USA's diplomatic interest, or our national safety, and as long as no federal funds are used. Thus, there are constitutional ways to achieve some international humanitarian goals, but as is often the case, doing things the right way, may take more effort than shortcuts. Currently Washington has convinced itself that it can legally, and morally, take away $50 billion dollars from its hard working people, and give it away as a gift to aid almost 180 nations around the planet. wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_foreign_aid

These are just two examples of how straying from the law, and constitution, have had negative consequences, and there are many many more. Part of the problem is caused by the confusion, and debate, on what the constitution means, and how to interpret it. Fortunately, there is available concrete proof, in writing, on exactly what our forefathers intended, and meant in the constitution. Many argue that this documented evidence is so strong, and so obvious, there should be almost no room for debate. One such area of confusion is the myth our constitution was intended to be a breathing, living, flexible document. In fact, this errant constitutional interpretation, was only conjured up recently, in the 1900's, by Justices Holmes and Brandeis, soon after Americas socialist "populist" phase. There is nowhere in the constitution this is written, nor even implied. By contrast, the proof our constitution means what is written on its four pages, is clearly observed in the many preserved writings and statements of our constitutional framers. These are recorded statements and writings that actually took place during passage of the constitution, by the people that were actually present, and not imaginations of some novelist like Mr Howard Lee McBain, who Wikipedia claims dreamt up the romantic idea of a "Living Document". Furthermore, nowhere in any of the 170 published explanatory articles from the time, called The Federalist, and Anti-Federalist papers, does it say or imply the constitution is transmutable, living, or breathing. Finally, the Constitution is a legal contract, and like all written contracts once agreed to and signed, it is not subject to arbitrary "living-breathing" re-interpretation. Likewise, the written contractual terms of my auto lease, and apartment lease, mean exactly just what they say, nothing else is permitted.

Whenever Washington DC politicians go astray from the permissions of the constitution, America seems to suffer. There are currently several hundred alphabet agencies created by Washington, and misdirecting our country. There are so many, it is becoming hard to even keep track ( wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet_agencies ). With each of these unconstitutional agencies and departments, there seems to be a curse created, sort of a catch-22, where violating the oath to our founding fathers, backfires in some unintended way.

And we are suffering some of the consequences and payback now. American students are lowest on international PISA scores for the top 30 nations. Education is yet another power forbidden from Washington by the Constitution. We have 2.5 million prisoners, of which 65 percent is possession of drugs, and cumulatively have arrested since Washingtons 1960's "war on drugs" over 40 million people. Alcohol, and drug legislation is absolutely forbidden for Congress. The list of constitution transgressions goes on, and on, but few are placing the blame where it possibly belongs. Yes, we blame it on middle east unrest, we blame it on the terrorists, we blame it on the economy, some blame it on Wall Street—but perhaps we need to look deeper, and see ourselves in the mirror. I'm not looking to vilify and blame ourselves as much as I am looking to find the source of the problem—Washington's disobedience to the law of the constitution. Here is one suggestion--visit the library and start reading the constitution again, you may be very surprised how well it was written, and provided strategies that would have prevented many of our current problems.

Look behind every supposedly all beef kosher sausage the government tries to sell us, and you likely will find some pork!

By Charles Novitsky

I would like to be able to trust my government, and governments in general, because they do sometimes serve the best purpose and strategy to achieve a common, or community good. Unfortunately,  that is not always true. I particularly dislike "private industry-government collusion" because these deals are often sweetheart deals, awarded to some connected private cronies that befriend government cronies--an incestuous relationship at the taxpayers expense.

Such is the case when I woke up this morning, to see the morning news segment. The newscaster was joyfully proclaiming that toll evading motorists will be given amnesty, and a discounted penalty, if they kindly pay their fines for sneaking onto a new toll highway in San Diego. Wow, I thought, how generous of the state to show such mercy and benevolence. But I suspected there was some deeper truth, hidden inside this supposedly kosher sausage, the government was trying to sell me. By the way, shame on the news crew for passing off this message from the cronies, which makes them culpable for this form of false advertising, and state propaganda.

In this case, the sausage factory was in San Diego, scenically called South Bay Expressway, no doubt the name was part of a public relations strategy, regardless of the fact that it is nowhere near any bay. The original name was Highway 125. However, it is more the financial history of the road, than its nominal history, that was disturbing. The financial authority in this matter goes by the name SANDAG, an acronym for "San Diego Association of Governments". Interesting, an association of governments--sort of like a gang of governments. Perhaps this gang should be audited under the anti-gang racketeering laws called RICO. Anyway, SANDAG gave away $30 million of our tax dollars to an Australian organization to build this semi-private road, and then planned to allow them to further benefit by collecting tolls and taxes, so long as they paid portions of this profit in homage to the state authority.

Sadly, the crony Australian company went bankrupt, along with my 30 million dollars, but we should not be too surprised, as this was predicted, and happens often with government incompetents. After all, if these government administrators where capable or talented at their jobs, and justified with their high salaries, they would be working for a private real company, and not being fed at the taxpayers teets. At least that is the way it once used to be, when government workers of  yesteryear,  were not paid higher than the private sector workers.

Allow me to divert for a moment by suggesting, that if someone works for our government, they are actually working for themselves, and for us, their tribe. On this basis, perhaps they should really be volunteering, and thus receive no salaries. I imagine, that if they saw this article, they would defend their government jobs with the predictable response, that they "have a right to a salary, so they can feed their family". My view is biased, and I would retort that they should then strive to qualify for a real job, where a net surplus of productivity, brings prosperity to the entire society. Government jobs, are like working for Mom and Dad, no additional wealth is brought into the family. At best, public jobs are revenue neutral, though those tax dollars spent of government salaries could have been better invested by the business that earned them. That private investment, creates true jobs. In our society, there is a surplus of community minded folks, some retired, that would love to pitch in and volunteer for some of these jobs. Not all of these community chores, involve full time commitment. But we have turned them into full time jobs, none the less. A good example of this trend, is witnessed with the exorbitant salaries, administrators for "San Diego County Water Authority" receive. And this is a problem facing many other "water authorities" nationwide. It's as if these administrators found a way to hijack the quasi-government corporations, and write their own checks, and job titles. Many of these quasi-government organizations were formed in the last century of American growth. Typically, as time progressed with these organizations, locally connected patricians, or someone in their family, get a job on the board of directors. Once in this position, they can hire friends, and family, who will then owe them a return of the favor-usually a vote by the other board members to give him or her a raise.  These are called government sponsored enterprises ( GSE ), and like Fannie Mae, the board members hang on for years, nominating each other for still fancier job titles, and cost of living raises. Not surprisingly, the responsibilities of these overpaid jobs, may entail as little talent and work, as opening the right water valve.

Back again to Highway 125. The truth it turns out, is that the SANDAG council has no legal authority to fine the cheating drivers that don't pay a toll, not yet anyway. So this is a news media sponsored story, to trick citizens into paying a fine, that SANDAG could not enforce in court. We should detest government lying.

Yet, on the other hand, I have no sympathy for these highway toll dodgers. In a perfect world, perhaps the road would have been bought and built by private parties, possibly with assistance of some community or government authority. If the project is seen as practical, popular, and needed, it would have been built without any taxpayer funds, and without government borrowing ( bonds ). Then, any tolls charged would be rightly deserved. In that case, toll cheating would be theft from legitimate business owners, and not from some bastardized creation of "private industry-government incest".

How Do We Control Washington DC? --By not giving the weeds more fertilizer.

By Charles Novitsky: Non-Credentialed Economist

If our founding fathers feared one thing—it was for their new creation in Washington DC to get too big. They looked upon the birth of  the Federal Government, as a medicine to remedy some of the disorganization present in the early states, and created what they believed was a league of states. But as with most medicines—too much can poison you. They worked hard to find the right dosage of Washington government, because the last thing they wanted, was for Washington to become like the British bully they fought so hard beat. They risked their lives, becoming British terrorists, to prevent the King's henchmen from telling them how to live their our own private lives. This arguably was the first "Civil War" on American soil, almost a century before Lincoln's civil war.

Unfortunately, we have seen, and will continue to see, greater and greater Federal growth, and more unconstitutional bullying by Washington. How big of a bully, no one can predict. This year the country of Cyprus confiscated part of the bank accounts of its citizens to pay its debts. Perhaps then, it may surprise some that Washington started bullying the states and its citizens nearly right away, just 20 years after the constitution was passed. Washington DC outlawed forms free speech, and arrested people if they dare criticize a politician. They called it the Sedition act of 1798. Benjamin Franklin's grandson was put in prison to die, for calling president Adams bald and querulous, amongst other adjectives. ( more info. But the sin of this unconstitutional sedition act was tiny compared to the big government started in the 1860’s by President Lincoln.

Yes, although we all "like to love" Lincoln, he was Washington DC's first big bully—he was the first president to forcefully draft men to their death to fight for the government, it was called conscription. He was the first American president to violate the constitution's intent of "Life & Liberty", and force our young men to fight and kill their brethren. In Lincoln's Civil War, Cain killed Abel, as his northern troops marched south, burning villages, farms, and killing nearly half a million of our southern brothers. Even raping women and robbing home owners as the troops left a path of blood and ashes in their massacre march ( more info ). The idea of a draft was so detested by American voters, there were even huge riots in the streets of New York over this new form of slavery of the population--military slavery( more info ). But lets not forget that Lincoln was also the first president to confiscate the peoples money with the income tax, though it was not permanent. He, like many Washington politicians, believed the state owns its people, and therefore should be entitled to take away their wealth and possessions, provided they simply had a good excuse. This income tax was called the “revenue act of 1861”.

Ever since this pivotal moment in Washingtonopoly, federal government has gained power using our tax monies to feed itself, to grow larger, to take still more tax money, to feed itself and grow larger, like weeds on the lawn. But in this case, the weeds have figured out a permanent way of getting their own bottle of fertilizer ( i.e. income tax money). The weeds are using the tax-fertilizer, to grow themselves, and now they are the size of the monster plant in “The Little Shop Of Horrors”.

The price these weeds make us pay to feed it, extracts the nutrition needed by the better, pretty plants desired on the lawn, even the fruit bearing trees. The weeds curtail and hamper business and job growth. They interfere in money creation and the entire economy, and thus feed off the maximum potential wealth, employment and prosperity of every man, woman, and baby. The weeds are even feeding off of future generations, through Washington debt, deficit, and borrowing. According to economists John Dawson, and John Seater, in the Journal of Economic Growth, the average American family would be six times wealthier, that’s about $330,000 dollars richer, if it wasn't for government siphoning off this productivity from our society. ( more info  )

But money, and the lost American wealth caused by big Washington are not the only issues. We have lost some of our freedoms, and history predicts it will likely get worse. We have the IRS, NSA, FBI, and other secret organizations, spying not only on citizens, but even on politicians in Congress. Some of this spying this took place before 9/11 as with the Watergate scandal, and even prior to that. So the excuse of needing to "prevent terrorism" is not entirely true, nor honest.

But it is when we look at all the other problems we got in this sour deal with the monster weed, that we start to realize its scope, and the futility in the system we feed each April 15th.  We have an Orwellian, autocratic government, that has indebted unborn children to a $17 trillion dollar debt, and takes a large percentage of productivity (GDP 25%) to feed itself and its crony minions. We have had far too many expensive wars since WW2, that have nothing to do with peace in America, though pro-war enthusiasts claim all sort of rationalizations. We have over two million Americans in prison, many for harmless, but arguably stupid drug use. Laws on drug use are forbidden to be made by Washington, according to the constitution's enumerated powers. It is written that only States may have that power, yet Washington has stolen the law anyway. Ever since the department of education was created in 1979, we have amongst the worlds worst school system. After 1979, American students fell to the bottom of  performance in math, amongst 31 other countries, based on an international test called PISA. Incidentally, making any laws or rules on education is also prohibited to Washingtoncrats by the constitution.

It appears that Washington DC is jinxed, and nearly everything they try to do, or try to fix becomes even worse. Just like the bungling plumbers seen in the Three Stooges movies, the more they try to fix the pipes, the bigger the leaks and disasters they cause.

In summary, and the main point is—we cannot allow Washington to get bigger and bigger and make these problems worse, while they claim they're solving them, after all in some cases, they've caused the problems in the first place. If Americans fail to see this pattern, and act to stop it, Washington will continue to feed itself, and like the monster weed on the lawn, destroy the entire home. The solution may be to take away the bottle of fertilizer ( i.e. tax money ) it has usurped to feed itself. We should therefore be wary of the forthcoming tactics they will try to use, like Internet sales tax, which is a national sales tax, that will give them even more money-fertilizer. You may one day wake up in horror, to discover this monster weed sleeping in your bed, breathing right beside you.

Bernanke Threatens To Slow Imaginary Money Creation: Markets Panic….But Is it too late? economic damage Already been done! ( Economics )

By Charles Novitsky  Non-Credentialed Economist

This week the 12 members of the federal reserve bank begrudgingly announced an end to their gravy train of money printing, or more accurately artificial money creation through bond buying with imaginary dollars. The creative name for this bond and asset buying is misleadingly named “Monetary Easing”, a term that never existed until recent.

As predicted, the stock market lost value, because investment experts know that this imaginary money creation is one of the major causes of inflation. Inflation, where costs of most products continually go up in price, and cost more,  like food, cars, college, doctors and clothing. This rising cost problem discourages people from saving, because the value of the saved money shrinks instead of growing. Thus granny, our seniors, and everyone else must resort to buying risky wall streets stocks that can lose them money and their life's savings. Even worse, in trying to counteract the shrinking dollar, we are taxed on this inflationary money. Perhaps this is one reason Washington loves inflation.

Another way to look at it is that Federal Reserve Bank policies cause all kinds of side effects on stocks, home ownership, prosperity, and even job loss. Not only is it a valid question if the Federal Reserve Bank should be allowed to continue tampering with the economic engine of society, but how much damage have they already done. Wouldn't it be nice if we could make Washington and the Federal Reserve Bank atone for past deeds, and repay us for the lost prosperity caused to each and every man, woman, and child in America. Big deal if they stop tomorrow, a bank thief may stop his crime spree tomorrow as well, but that doesn’t mean we forgive him for the past. But We can probably predict, that soon, another excuse will be given to us by Washington why they must print more money for our own good. They never mention it is really for Federal government's good, so they can make it easier to pay back the $17.2 trillion dollar debt created by our fat cat politicians spending sprees.

The Federal Reserve Bank was created 100 years ago in 1913, so this is the 100th year anniversary of the idea that Washington can manage the blood supply of our economy and prosperity. It is this prosperity that gives everyone a job, food on the table, and goodies on the store shelves to buy. Americas favorite hobby might be when we go on our weekend shopping sprees. Tampering with this blood supply is quite dangerous economically. Many of our worlds freest democratic countries have collapsed from interfering with money and the economy. According to Economists Hubbard and Kane in their book titled "Balance", mighty Rome fell soon after inflating their money, and ironically creating a welfare state, and entitlements to keep the voters happy. Other economists such as Milton Friedman PhD, lectured that it conceited of  Washington to believe it can control the flow of money and protect it value, when they actually harm our trust in money. Professor Friedman also taught us the Federal Reserve Bank not only failed to prevent 1929 depression and its job loss, they actually made it much much worse. ( professor Friedman's Depression lecture on YouTube )

So why else does Washington love inflation? Brilliant economists have been debating with each other for decades whether or not an inflationary money system is good or evil. Sadly, Washington prefers to hear those economist that tell them what they want to hear--that its good to print more and more money, and good to spend-spend-spend. Money is the blood supply that allows Washington to keep on growing. Unfortunately like other parasites that grows at the expense of their hosts, the bigger Washington gets, the more it needs to feed off the workers and business, and the harder it becomes for new business to start up, and create more jobs by hiring more people.

Americans pay a steep price for these inflationary shenanigans by the federal reserve bank in other ways. Perhaps one of the most serious is invisibly taking money and food out of the pockets of the poorest Americans, and even depriving them extra potential purchasing power with each new paycheck, here's how that happens. In a economy thus puts its wealth into a voucher system, like the dollar, everyone gets out what they put into the system, with a fixed amount of vouchers, like gold coins, the value of our value, or slice of the pie, goes up, as the economy grows, and as the population grows bigger with time. these vouchers, a type of receipt representing what we have contributed to the economy remain the same in a normal fixed(stationary commodity ) money system. That’s why gold has been used for thousands of years as the fixed carrier for wealth. to tamper with this fixed value is economically dangerous for jobs and prosperity, and to print extra receipts for wealth is very similar to counterfeiting money. legalists say when the government prints money its not counterfeiting, and of course that’s exactly what Washington has conveniently decided to believe.. but it causes the same result for readers of this column.
The question is how much damage has the fed already done. do we need to make them admit accountability and responsibility for the past damage to the economy.
The federal reserve bank, officially known as the federal reserve system, was created by Washington in 1913, by the federal reserve act. The problem is that the constitution gives Washington the power to coin money, but no authority to CREATE money, a big difference... Coining money means taking gold or silver, and stamping its value on it, usually with a pretty design. Thus everything Washington winks the fed into doing is unconstitutional according to constitutional scholars like woods and linguini.
the fed is guilty of the following past offenses
manipulation of interest rates cause production bubbles that multiply job loss, unemployment, and toxic malinvestment, by individuals and businesses
manipulated interest rates and imaginary money creation fuel inflation, which coerces people, and businesses to resort to investment gambling to keep their assets from shrinking
inflationary strategies deprive every worker from getting an invisible raise each paycheck
Furthermore, according to economists Schiff, block, Solow, and others everything the fed is doing is financially and economically unkosher  Yes, it is likely too much damage has already been done since 1913. So is it time to stop the game.. it is time to stop the printing presses, and end this politburo called the federal reserve bank

Sort of like the voodoo doctor that doesn’t know what he or she is doing, and actually make the health problem worse.

Short Version: Political Theory: Washington's Social Programs--Breaking Up Is Hard To Do!

As the song goes "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do". When a relationship ends, it often causes a lot of pain, separation anxiety, and insecurity. This separation fear can occur even if we realize the relationship was dysfunctional. There usually is temporarily a feeling of being lost, like being in a row-boat without a paddle. One could call this an emotional dependency--the "addiction to love".

Likewise we see the government's policies and programs, once created, can form bonds with its citizens, an emotional dependency. Even if this policy proves to be hurtful, or illogical to the society, with poor results, people fear when these these policies are ended. People often predict havoc will occur, if this or that program, is ever ended.

Lets take drug laws as an example. Experts say the war on drugs causes many unintended problems for society. such as...
1) Causes illegal money to go to dangerous drug cartels and gangs ( think alcohol Prohibitions creation of murderous Al Capone )
2) Imprisons many harmless curious youth, and tarnishes their future employability with a criminal record. ( Obama would not never have been President if jailed for his admitted drug use)
4) Exposes non-criminal youth in prison to dangerous felons, and educates them to become better criminals.
4) Has wasted approximately one trillion dollars since the 1960s war on drugs was started.

Yet although many believe this is an erroneous policy, we can't seem to end this social policy dependency, and many claim drug addicts would start raining out of the sky if drugs were decriminalized. We have approximately 600,000 people in our prisons for nonviolent victimless drug issues.

A similar scenario plays out in our American society in many other ways with the many other addictive social programs. And that too is part of the problem, we have so many many programs that when we add them up, we begin to see the enormous scope of how society is being misdirected and misshaped. Most Americans would likely rather have a well paying job, and prosperity, rather than maintain this erroneous taxpayer funded Utopia, yet we can't seem to stop these failed idealist trends. Like a heavy train or car that gets into motion, it is hard to stop it by pushing back.

Some failed programs started off as great ideas, but were poorly orchestrated, or thereafter ruined by Washington politicians. Welfarism, or the protection of the poorer segments of our society never worked out as promised. Many experts argue, that our welfare mentality has caused harm to the poor by crowding them into poor government affordable housing that soon breed crime, and creates an atmosphere of hopelessness.

And sadly, the same addictive conclusion can be made from many of our modern policies and programs of the new Washingtontopia.
  • Aid to Foreign Countries going to America's enemies, and facilitating dictator governments.
  • Federal Reserves tampering with interest rates, causing inflation and lost savings for Americans.
  • Military use to spread democracy to middle east and other countries, risking homeland safety.
  • Fannie Mae's contribution towards unaffordable  housing bubbles.
  • Taxes on employers causing unemployment and job loss overseas, and hurting business startups.
  • Dept Of Education's interference with teaching, to make our students amongst the worlds worst in performance. ( 31 lowest in Math, 23 lowest in science PISA 2009 )
  • USDA's farmers paid not to grow crops.
  • Social Security mismanagement causing future bankruptcy, instead of being fixed through privatization.
In fact, there are so many failing "feel-good", programs, that just an abbreviated list would take nearly a dozen pages. It may be of interest to some, that all these powers and programs are forbidden to Washington DC ( i.e. the Federal Government), by our ingenious constitution in article 1 section 8, which is the list of  their allowed enumerated powers. It is a list worth looking up, and understanding.

Not only do these failures cost Americans lost money through unuseful taxation, even worse, they causes harm to the entire economy, by diverting useful funds, entrepreneurial energy, man-hours and other resources from prosperity and the productivity in the private market. These are the factory and businesses that gives us our jobs, and the iPhones or widgets we desire. This economic market, according to Nobel prize winning economist Friedrich Hayek, its what makes us free and ended the slavery of serfdom, and the toil of the previous agricultural farm society (subsistence farming). Without this freedom, we are all economically poor eventually.

Devising a restraint on Washington's idealism through the constitution might be a new solution. Enforcing existing rules in the constitution will require the creation of a "constitution enforcement committee". A trusted organization, run by the people and constitution experts, that enforces the constitution not only on Congress, but the President, and most importantly on the Supreme Court. Many law experts mistakenly believe the Supreme Court is the final judge of what is constitutional. This is not entirely accurate, the Supreme Court is the final arbiter for disputes amongst the states, and general laws of the land, but not our constitutional rights. Having the Supreme Court decide what is "allowed to be allowed" to itself, is akin to having the fox in charge of the chicken coop, and Thomas Jefferson knew this well.

Political Theory: Washington's Social Programs--Breaking Up Is Hard To Do!

Just like when two people meet each other and form a relationship, if, and when the relationship ends, the pain of breaking up can be hard to fathom and deal with. This fear and pain often occurs even if we happen to know the relationship was detrimental. There usually is temporarily a feeling of being lost, like being in a row-boat without a paddle. One could call this a social or emotional dependency--like the "addiction of love".

Likewise we see the government's policies and programs, once created, can form bonds with its citizens, an emotional dependency. Even if this policy proves to be hurtful, or illogical to the society in its results, people fear the emptiness of this policy being ended. Some are often there to predict havoc will occur if this or that program is ever ended.

Lets take drug use as an example.
3) Wastes prison space. ( best use is for violent offenders, and thieves )
4) Exposes non-criminal youth in prison to dangerous felons, and educates them to become better criminals.
5) Wastes expensive court time and state cost overhead.
6) Distracts police resources and officers from the more important violent issues.
7) Has wasted approximately one trillion dollars since the 1960s war on drugs was started.

Yet although many believe this is an erroneous policy, we can't seem to end this social policy dependency, and many claim drug addicts would start raining out of the sky if drugs were decriminalized. We have approximately 600,000 people in our prisons for nonviolent victimless drug issues. These imprisoned people are not able to contribute to the economy of America, such as the GDP/PPR ( gross domestic product, private product remaining ). Instead they suck up our taxes and resources because each prisoner costs Americans $20,000 to $40,000 to feed and keep in prison each and every year. But again, no one can dare stop this merry-go-round drug policy for fear of everyone in society suddenly becoming a drug addict, and society thus ending.

A similar scenario plays out in our American society in many other ways with the many other addictive social programs. And that too is part of the problem, we have so many many programs that when we add them up, we begin to see the enormous scope of how society is being misdirected and misshaped. The modern fabric of a healthy free society, and our natural anthropological social norms, from millions of years of social evolution are being tampered with, by many of these well intended programs. The price we pay can be social disruption like those in Hitlers Germany era, Lenin and Stalin's Russia eras, and the loss of some of our freedoms and liberties. But ultimately according to economist Milton Friedman PhD, the price we pay is job loss ( i.e unemployment ), and a less prosperous economy, where there is less wealth for the poor and middle class. Instead our wealth is diverted to big government ( Washington and taxes) , and big business ( Enron, GE, Halliburton ), and big military ( Lockheed Martin, Grumman, and 600 military bases worldwide).

Areas where negative or unlearnt work ethics become contagiously spread amongst each other, and infests the youth of the next generation. According to political scientists like Charles Murray, this tends to make this poverty permanent. these well intentioned hand-out programs fool its recipients into dangerous complacency  and just like a lack of exercise makes it harder to run and keep in shape-- doling out free money makes it harder to keep one's motivations, aspirations, and work ethics. The longer you remain on the dole, the harder it becomes each year to ever escape.

But for the curious, one can begin at this website
http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/omb/expectmore/rating/notperform.html  . It may be of interest to some, that all these powers and programs are forbidden to Washington DC ( i.e. the Federal Government), by our wonderful constitution in article 1 section 8, the list of allowed enumerated powers authorized. It is a list worth looking up, and understanding.

And, so not only does this failure cost Americans lost money through unuseful taxation, even worse, it causes harm to the entire economy, by diverting useful funds, energy, man-hours and other resources from prosperity and productivity in the private market. This is the factory market that gives us our jobs, and the iPhones or widgets we desire. this economic market, according to nobel prize winning economist Friedrich Hayek, its what makes us free and ended the slavery of serfdom, and the toil of the previous agricultural farm society (subsistence farming). Without this freedom, we are all economically poor eventually.

The point is once a government program is born, once the momentum of a government policy infects its host it becomes hard to reverse. Furthermore some people get so accustomed to this policy they believe its normal, especially if they were born after this policy was created. They have not had the wisdom to see how society may have well existed prior to, and without its advent, and even more so, believe to end it would be havoc.

What conclusions or solutions can we now make realizing this blindside in human nature? Perhaps it is important to realize that changing is hard, even if it means changing back from a dysfunctional situation--and therefore, that is why it must be done--because we know we tend to become complacently addicted.

The question remains--what can be done to solve this idealism that causes Washington to create these failed "feel good" mal-solutions? It is simply enforcing the restraint on innate human idealism strategized by the constitution, though this alone won't guarantee us some perfect society, but perhaps just a little better. Like being alone and lonely is not a great situation for the lovelorn, but it is far better than an abusive dangerous relationship.

Enforcing the restraint on Washington utopian idealism by the constitutions existing rules means the creation of a new organization in America to enforce the constitution in Washington-- the "constitution enforcement committee". A trusted organization run by the people and constitution experts, that makes sure all congressmen know the constitution, and enforces the constitution not only on congress, but the president, and most importantly on the supreme court. Many law experts mistakenly believe the supreme court is the final judge of what is constitutional. This is not entirely accurate, the supreme court is the final arbiter for disputes amongst of the states, and general laws of the land, but not our constitutional rights. This sole right to interpret the constitution rests with the parties that created the constitution and the foederal government ( federal mistyped on purpose due to its original spelling and meaning ), and that power rests with the state colonies, and the people of those states. Having the supreme court decide what it is allowed to allow itself to do it akin to having the fox in charge of the chicken coop, and Thomas Jefferson knew this well.

Letter To Steve Forbes

Steve.... there is something only you can accomplish... creating a panel called the "Constitution Enforcement Committee".

We need a “people's panel” that reports to the citizens each week, in a semiofficial manner, on Washington DC's misdeeds, as seen from the constitution. A believable panel the has the respect to declare Washington in violation of the constitution, and be able to clearly explain to the public—why our forefathers forbade it in the constitution, and where it says so. A tribunal with the clout to critique the Supreme Court and Congress and President.

Part of the goal of this tribunal is exposing Americans to the constitution and teaching the citizen audience how to apply it and interpret it. As you already know, the Supreme Court often sides with Washington, and mistakenly believes it is the final and sole arbiter of what is to be interpreted as constitutional. Forcefully of course.

Steve... only you have the clout to assemble a respected team of “constitution law experts”...”public administration theory experts” and form “The People's Constitution Tribunal”. Only you have the connections and resources to publish the findings of this constitution tribunal every week in your magazines, and syndicate it in several daily newspapers. The proceedings of this panel must also be broadcast nationwide, hopefully weekly, on cable or TV. YouTube and other social media outlet streaming, would be advantageous as well.

Sort of like a good form of McCarthyism, bust just as powerful and accusatory, this panel will hold no punches. The tribunal must vilify or praise Congresspeople, vilify or praise Supreme Court decisions and the individual opinions of the justices therein, and of course the Executive's office. A certain portion of this broadcast is historical, and retrospective of important past constitutional events, people or decisions that explain the mess we find ourselves and our country in today. Another section deals with credentialed advisement on where the country should be headed to in the future, with a focus on the correct course for the President's office, and all of Washington.

This is America's last chance to unbury the constitution before it is relegated as a work of fiction or poetry of the past.. before Orwell's nightmare becomes a permanent and daily reality.

Please help America
